Number এর কিছু গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পয়েন্ট

Some Very Important Points:

1. নিচের noun গুলির পূর্বে বহুবচনগত সংখ্যা বসলেও তাদের Plural ব্যবহার করা যাবেনা। যেমনঃ

Brace, dozen, fathom, gross, pair, yoke,
score, hundred, thousand.

Incorrect: He gave us seven thousands taka.

Correct: He gave us seven thousand taka.

2. নিচের noun গুলি সব সময়ই Singular, এদের কখনো  Plural ব্যবহার করা যাবেনা যেমনঃ

Furniture, scenery, information, poetry,
machinery, expenditure, bread, advice.

Incorrect: Sumon gave us some machineries.

Correct: Sumon gave us some machinery.

3. নিচের noun গুলি সব সময়ই Plural, এদের কখনো Singular ব্যবহার করা যাবেনা । যেমনঃ

a) Pair Nouns: scissors, bellows, spectacles
etc

b) dress having two legs: trousers, shorts,
pants etc

c) diseases: measles, mumps

d) certain other nouns: ashes, alms, assets,
clothes, vegetables, goods, premises etc

Incorrect: This shorts is nice.

Correct: These shorts are nice.

4. নিচের noun গুলির Singular এবং Plural একই। যেমনঃ

Deer, sheep, canon, gross, apparatus, spices,
innings, crops, salmon.

Incorrect: I have seven deers.

Correct: I have seven deer.

5. নিচের noun গুলি দেখতে Plural হলেও তারা Singular.  যেমনঃ

gallows, news, physics, ethics, politics,
statistics, economics, athletics, mathematics, gymnastics etc

Incorrect: Statistics are a difficult
subject.

Correct: Statistics is  a difficult
subject.

6. নিচের noun গুলি দেখতে Singular হলেও তারা Plural. যেমনঃ

people, cattle, folk, swine, poultry, police,
vermin etc

Incorrect: The police is watching the house.

Incorrect:  The police are watching the
house.
